The Northern Turner County Food Pantry is located in Parker in the basement of the Courthouse. Scheduled hours are Wednesday and Friday from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. No income guidelines or paperwork is necessary to receive services. The food pantry is a volunteer ministry that serves an average of 45 families per month living in the Northern part of the County. Donations from individuals and businesses in the communities are the reason the pantry is a continued success.
On the third Tuesday of every month at 4:30 P.M. in the community room at the courthouse, the pantry partners with Feeding South Dakota and Panera Bread to host a Bread giveaway. Food options vary from month-to-month based on availability of donations, but patrons can expect meat items, fresh produce, bread, pastries, and a number of other selections to choose from. Anyone is welcome.
